Date and DEAD!!
My heart was beating very fast as I approached the door. Slowly my hands reached out for the knob. I stood still, my hands were trembling on the door knob, cold sweat ran through my face and my back. I hesitated. Behind me, she was shutting her eyes, her mouth muttered something. A prayer, or maybe she’s just cursing all that is happening, I’m not sure. I waited, the sound of heavy footsteps and clanging steel chain had long gone. I looked at her again. She looked back at me, and then in a way, she nods. I have to open this door. She grabbed tightly to the ice pick that we found earlier. What ever happen next, it would not be so nice I thought. I inhaled, and flung open the door quickly, she jumped from behind, just to attack… thin air. The room was lifeless. Nobody inside. Nobody alive inside. Three bodies mangled in a pool of blood. I recognized each one of them well, Sarah, Nina and Tony. Sarah’s and Nina’s body was on the bed, their hands were tied to the poles, their legs wide spread out. Their face was full of suffer and pain as if they were tortured hideously. I think I know what did that maniac did . Melissa, who was following me, now sat crying by the side of her friends’ bodies. Tony on the other hand died in a higher position. His head, nearly cut off completely from his body but still attached to it was hanging on the chandelier of the room. Blood still trickling from the tip of his hands. Owh, it seems one of his fingers was missing. I wonder where was it. It is just too sad to cry. Too horrifying to scream. So I just kept silent.
I approached Melissa, tapped her on the shoulder and said,
“It’s time to go Mel,”
She looked at me, her mascara ran through her cheeks. She nodded, wiped out her last drop of tear for her friends, grabbed the ice pick and stood up
“Let’s go, I don’t want to stay here any longer,” she says.
We surveyed the area and escaped through the window. We moved silently without a sound, in stealth mode. The full moon gleamed over the cemetery, giving us some light to make our way. We watched each others back. Not knowing where the killing machine might come from. We crept our way to our car. I wish we did not even trespass this cemetery in the first place. Now, we were like animals, hunted by some retard with chainsaws and all. When we arrived, the car was already wrecked. Some sort of wood pole was stuck to the front mirror. Someone practiced his javelin throwing skills and the target was inside the car.
I stood up, followed by Mel. We moved closer to the car. What we saw inside it was not pleasant. Sitting on the driver’s seat, Saran with his face crushed by the wood pole. Part of his eyeballs slipped out of his skull to the seat next to him. Mel vomited. Again, I cannot feel anything, either I was really calm or it is just that I have seen this kind of stuff too much since we came to this graveyard.
Suddenly we heard a growl, a scream. Sheila! She is still alive?! I grabbed Mel’s hand and ran towards the scream. We ran and ran and found ourselves in a garden. Roses that used to bloom now black-dead. The statue of Virgin Mary in the middle of the fountain of the garden. We hid in a bush looking for anything suspicious. Mel tapped my shoulder and pointed to the right wing of the garden. Two.. No. Three figures were there. Sheila and her boyfriend Clark, both stark-naked. And in front of the was “him”, the maniac that have been mercilessly slaughtered our friends. The monster grabbed Sheila by her hair. He held her up high. Her feet dangling in mid air. Shockingly, Clark, the so-called boyfriend ran away. This cannot be happening, I thought. I sprang out of the bush, grabbed an iron from the broken gates of a grave and ran as fast as I could. The monster did not notice me coming as he was enjoying himself, molesting Sheila on the cold ground. It was a metre away, I lunged myself towards the maniac, my hand gripped the iron rod tightly over my head and. . . . missed!! Darn! The iron rod only managed to strike his shoulders and pinned him down for a while.
The monster howled in agony. Blood oozes from his shoulder. Sheila was crying. I grabbed her arm and escaped.
But our escape was freezed by the hurdling boulders of the monster. He was injured but still strong. I tried to think a way to escape or kill this guy as running seems futile. This monster won’t stop. He’s colossal, 7-feet tall and was fast as a stallion. He rushed towards me and Sheila with the iron rod still stuck to his shoulders. All I have in my hand now was a pocket knife, not sure whether it will bring any good or not but I held it tightly, prepared to stab him. He was getting closer, closer and closer.
It was when the monster was just a few steps away from us when I heard a scream. It was more like a battle cry, it was Melissa, from behind us, she lunged, like a cat, the ice pick along with her. The scene was astounding, I was stupefied. She looked like a warrior under the full moon, and she was victorious! Her ice pick found its target this time. Bull’s-eye! The ice pick dug deep into the monster’s skull. Blood gushes out of his head. He was still vigilant. With all his might, he pulled out the ice pick from his skull. It was a very foolish act. The second he pulled out the ice pick completely out of his skull, blood shoots out along with his flesh of brain. He gurgled, he flailed, he falls. Melissa retreated back to me. I signaled her to look after Sheila.
I went closer to the body of the monster. He was still gurgling. His hands and legs twitches. I can feel that he was facing great pain. I felt sorry for him despite all the things he had done. So, I pulled out the iron rod that was stuck to his shoulder, held it up high, aimed for his heart.
“You deserve this, don’t worry you would not feel any pain.. Because you’re DEAD!!” I said and down come the iron rod with all my strength to my target. He froze. No more gurgling. No more twitching. No more pain.
I went back to retrieve Sheila and Mel. Sheila, now dressed with a T-shirt gave by Mel and Mel, with her face soiled both sat in silence. I approached Mel, kissed her , and said
“I love you, you are my hero,”
She gave me a faint smile. All three of us went back to the monster’s house. We went to the garage and found ourselves a pickup truck. I jump started the truck and of we go busting our way out of the locked gates of the cemetery.
This was two years ago, now I am married to Mel. Together we bought a house, a car and “make” a pair of twins! Sheila, on the other hand, is engaged. Not to Clark but to a business man in New York. What happen to Clark? The police found his body in a vacant open grave. They said that he fell when into the hole while trying to run, break his neck and died on the spot. It would have been funny if he would still be alive but since he’s dead, I got to mourned for him. So, every time I heard some kids was off to some place to make out, I just hope they didn’t choose a cemetery for it!! HAHA!!

The Fateful Encounter
I approached the young man with a smile. “Aren’t you Zainal? The one that had the crush on me last time?,” I asked him with cheeky voice, bending forward a bit as he was sitting down, backing me. The man turned and shockingly said,
“Hmm, maybe I will if we actually know each other darling,” he said sarcastically. My goodness, I got the wrong person!! I blushed. Oh! My face feels like it’s on fire. I feel like a total idiot. Gosh! Wish I can be invisible this instant. Too bad I’m not Invisible Girl. Agh, what would he think of me!?
“Owh! I’m so sorry! I mistook you for another person, I thought you’re.. you’re..,”
“Zainal? The one that actually had crush on you? Hehe..” he smiled mockingly.
“Yes! Wait, NO! I thought you’re him! Oh man, I just humiliated myself! To a stranger! Argh!,” I said, trying not to scream. I don’t know what to do and this guy over here seems to have a good time for himself seeing me this way.
“Haha! Chill, it’s not the end of the world that you got the wrong person, that you think had a crush on you!! Haha!” he went on, laughing like it was a colossal joke.
I can’t take it no more. All I can say is, “Agh! Fine!,” I start to make my way out of the scene when suddenly a firm but gentle grip grabbed my wrist. I stopped, all of the sudden, my anger, frustration and shame fade away.
“Wait! Don’t just leave, yet. Please, have a sit. Relax.” Either this man over here have power to “hypnotize” me or he is just irresistible because I actually sit down.
“Man, do I really have to go through this?” I whined. I looked down, I just don’t have the guts to look him in the eyes.
“Aww, so cute! Hey, look at me baby,” he said in a flirting style. His index finger, raised my chin up. For the first time I actually looked at him. A typical malay-like sort of face, jet black hair, he just seems so… so… so ordinary. But, the thing that charmed me is his sparkling eyes, full of confidence, and a smile, so pure, so genuine, born from the deepest part of his heart. I know this sounds so dreamy and all, but to me, that is what I saw in him. Then with a smile he said coolly,
“So, how many guys actually have crushes on you, because I can’t see the reason why wouldn’t they,” he said, sipping his iced coffee with one eyebrow raised.
This guy really like to flirt, said in my mind. So, let me play along with him. I got valiant and replied, “I lost count! Like you have said, men just can’t resist me! Hah!” I snubbed, feeling good. I watched him carefully, he’s shocked. But only for a split second before regain his cool and continued,
“Hoho! So let’s see, just now, you act as if you just shown your naked childhood picture to the whole campus, completely in shame, the next second I know, the zero turns to hero! You got bold, and backfired me!” he said sarcastically.
“You really are one interesting girl. Oh, where are my manners. I forgot to introduce myself. Hi, the name’s Raf, Asyraf. And you are?”he asked.
“Haha, well my name is Amanina but you can just call me Nina” I smiled.
“You too are one heck of a man. You dare to play and flirt with some unknown girl. No bad eh, Romeo?” I said, kicking his shin. He flinched, then said,
“Ahaha! I’ll take that as a compliment thank you. Hey, order something for yourself, drinks are on me. Waiter, can you take this lovely girl’s order please?” said Asyraf with one hand rubbing his shin under the table.
“Okay, I’ll have carrot juice thank you. So tell me Asyraf, how many girls have you flirted with before?” I smiled mockingly at him. Unaffected, he just gulped down his drink, smiled and replied,
“Well, actually Ms. Nina, giving a specific number is impossible because there’s just too many of them. But you, you are totally different! And I like it! Haha!” he went on, glaring at me with his gorgeous brown eyes.
“Oh really? How so?” I demanded.
“Most of the girls fall for my words. But you, you fought back and actually giving a hard time there! Do you know that?” he said.
“Aww, I’m flattered. Too bad, I don’t fall easily with only words. And for your information, most of men fall for my looks. So I think we found our match eh?” I said, stirring my drink that just arrived.
“Hmm.. So, it’s words versus looks. What is this? Some sort of fateful encounter? Yuck! Gross! Haha!” he went on laughing.
“Hey, it’s quite romantic okay. Minus the part that I got the person. Hehe.” I said, jerking half my tongue out.
“Sheesh, I know you’re a girl, but that’s just so lame!” Asyraf replied.
“Fine, so what? I am a girl! Hello?! Anyway, what course are you taking since you are so interested in girls? Let me guess, Flirting 101?” I laughed.
“Hardy har, so funny. Nope. I’m taking psycho. You?” he asked.
“A psychologist to-be or a psycho maniac in the making! Haha! I’m taking Aviation Physics,” I replied.
“A pilot, not bad. Wait, if you are taking A.P. isn’t our faculty are next to each other?” he said
“Yeah, how come we’ve never met then?” I asked
He smiled, rubbing his legs against mine, with his charming smile and heart melting eyes he said something that I will never ever forget,
“Maybe what we were supposed to do is have this so called fateful encounter I guess. And who knows, this can get further. Would you like to join me to go on an exploring mission and see where can it take us?”
I don’t know what hit me then. I agreed. I actually joined his so called “exploring mission”! Where have this mission took us? Well it has been two years, and the mission still goes on! We “explore” each other a lot. Things that are funny, interesting, sad, shocking and etc. were explored. Still we never run out of things to share. I love him, same as the way he loves me. Though he says that he loves me more than I love him. Hehe. So, that is the fateful encounter that changed my life, maybe when he actuall got the guts to propose me, I’ll continue this story, maybe I’ll name it “The Fateful Encounter: Extended”. But that is in the future, or maybe the next minute because he just called telling me he wants to meet me to say something important. So, wish me luck! See you!
“Hmm, maybe I will if we actually know each other darling,” he said sarcastically. My goodness, I got the wrong person!! I blushed. Oh! My face feels like it’s on fire. I feel like a total idiot.
